This collection contains selected articles from the 5th International Conference on Tourism, Gastronomy, and Tourist Destination (TGDIC 2025) held in Bali, Indonesia, on 16 – 18 October 2025. This event was hosted by Trisakti Institute of Tourism.
The conference was held to bring together experts, scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss and explore innovative strategies for sustainable and resilient tourism development, with a particular emphasis on addressing global challenges such as climate change, economic fluctuations, and post-pandemic recovery in the tourism sector.
This KnE Social Sciences issue contains 54 peer-reviewed articles that focus on key topics relating to the special issue theme, including innovative practices in transforming tourism, gastronomy, and tourist destinations. This special issue highlights the role of influencing culinary attractions, ensuring customer satisfaction, and implementing technology-based models to attract foreign tourists. Moreover, this special issue also focuses on leveraging digital marketing and engagement practices on brand royalty for contributions to sustainable and humane tourism.
These articles will be of interest to academics, students, or professionals researching or working to explore the challenges and opportunities offered by the tourism and hospitality industry in the context of sustainable tourism.
