Abstract:

The rapid evolution of the energy sector necessitates the development of robust leadership capacities to navigate the complexities of energy transition. This research aims to develop a comprehensive framework for enhancing leadership capacities to meet future challenges in the energy sector. A systematic literature review was conducted, analyzing 72 peer-reviewed articles, industry reports, and policy documents published between 2015 and 2024. The review identified key themes, including the critical skills and competencies required for effective leadership, the effectiveness of existing leadership development programs, and innovative pedagogical approaches. Findings indicate a significant gap in leadership skills, particularly in areas such as strategic foresight, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adaptive management. The analysis also highlights successful models of leadership development, emphasizing the importance of experiential learning, mentorship, and cross-sector partnerships. Based on these insights, a conceptual framework is proposed, incorporating dynamic skills forecasting, continuous professional development pathways, and strong industryacademia- government collaboration. The study concludes that addressing the leadership skills gap is crucial for a successful energy transition, and recommends targeted policy interventions and innovative educational strategies to build a resilient leadership workforce capable of driving sustainable energy initiatives.
