Abstract:
Decision-making is the selection of one alternative from several alternative solutions with certain considerations in order to solve a problem. The focus of this study is to reveal the dynamics of decision-making in students who choose to date. This study was conducted using a phenomenological approach. The subjects in this study were 6 teenage students aged 16-17 years who were in a relationship. The selection of subjects used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews and observations. The focus of this study was to determine the dynamics of decision-making for students who choose to date. The results of this study indicate that the dynamics of decision-making in teenage students who choose to date are influenced by factors, bases, and stages related to family background and the influence of the Islamic boarding school environment. The dynamics of the factors are related to understanding, motives, environmental reactions, cognitive, and attitudes. The dynamics of decision-making influenced by the base are related to subjective intuition and the experiences of the subjects. Meanwhile, the selection of alternatives and evaluation of the decision to date are dynamics that emerge based on the stages of decision-making.
