Abstract:

This study considers the management of Fallujah under the British occupation and the royal era (1917-1958), with particular emphasis on the functions of the mayor in Fallujah’s administration. This was a short-term post held by many individuals, first for the king, then the the government, and later for the governor of the Dulaim brigade.  The mayor was extremely active in the administration of Fallujah, overseeing and evaluating the work of the various departments, including the directors of the municipality, state property, police, health and education.
