Abstract:

The impact of Al-Asfiya can still be felt across Iraq; its scholars still shine in the scholarly circles, particularly with regards to the recitation and interpretation of the holy Quran. One of the most successful scholars in this field is Professor Ahmed Al-Kubaisi, whose book The Best of Stories is the focus of this paper. This study is broken into three parts. The introduction lays out the research objectives and potential issues. The next section offers an overview of Professor Al-Kubaisi’s work. The third section explores the scholarship in The Best of Stories, considering the approach taken and resources used.
