Abstract:

The harmonization of environmental law in Indonesia plays a crucial role in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and facilitating the acceleration of Indonesia’s Golden Era in 2030-2040. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature review to analyze various environmental legal policies in Indonesia, comparing them with the principles of SDGs through data collection using document studies, legislation, and official reports related to environmental management and SDG implementation in Indonesia. The discussion results show that harmonizing ecological law in Indonesia can strengthen efforts to protect natural resources, thus improving the quality of life by integrating economic and environmental policies that support each other. Reducing regulatory overlap and strengthening the capacity of law enforcement agencies are essential factors in enhancing the effectiveness of environmental policies. Furthermore, a participatory approach involving the comunity and the private sector has been proven to accelerate the implementation of sustainable policies. In conclusion, the harmonization of environmental law in Indonesia holds significant potential to drive the achievement of SDGs, which can accelerate the realization of Indonesia’s Golden Era in 2030-2040. Therefore, policy reforms, institutional strengthening, and human resource capacity building are needed to create a more efficient, just, and sustainable legal system.
