Abstract:

Teachers serve as significant socialization agents in society. Understanding teachers’ value structure allows us to evaluate the extent to which the values are aligned with broader social and cultural values. This is important to ensure that the education provided is not only academically relevant but also appropriate to the social and cultural context. Understanding an individual’s values provides insight into their personality that can help predict behavior in certain situations. The relationship between values and personality is considered crucial to building a value-based society. By providing a strong moral and ethical foundation, it is hoped that it will produce a generation that has good character and contributes positively to society. This study aims to examine the relationship between values and personality based on the Big Five Personality theory. The results of this study indicate that extraversion correlates with conformity, benevolence, achievement, stimulation, and security value. Agreeableness is correlated with tradition, benevolence, universalism, and stimulation. Conscientiousness is correlated with conformity, tradition, benevolence, universalism, achievement, stimulation, and security.
