Abstract:

This study aims to review existing literature on Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) practices, with a specific emphasis on improving energy efficiency in the manufacturing sector across various countries with different conditions. The manufacturing industry is one of the largest energy consumers, resulting in various negative environmental impacts. With increasing global awareness of environmental sustainability, there is growing pressure on the manufacturing industry to reduce its negative impacts. Energy efficiency within the context of GSCM is a primary focus because it can reduce pollution and operational costs. This research employs a literature review method, evaluating and integrating information from various sources to provide a comprehensive understanding of this topic. The study identifies various strategies and technologies used by manufacturing companies to enhance energy efficiency in developed, developing, and poor countries, while analyzing the barriers and drivers of GSCM implementation. Through this analysis, the research offers valuable insights for industry practitioners and policymakers in developing effective and sustainable GSCM strategies tailored to the economic, environmental, and social conditions of each country. The findings indicate that performance measurement, implementation barriers, and drivers of GSCM practices vary depending on each country’s level of economic development and infrastructure, offering guidance for more tailored and effective strategies.
