Abstract:

This study aimed to analyze Fachrudin Faiz’s thoughts on stoicism and Islam as presented on the Cahaya Indonesia YouTube channel. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. Data were obtained from primary sources in the form of a video uploaded by the Cahaya Indonesia YouTube channel, featuring content on the meeting point between stoicism and Islam. Secondary data consisted of books, scholarly writings, and several previous studies relevant to the research object. Data collection was carried out using documentation techniques, followed by analysis and conclusion drawing. The results of this study revealed two meeting points between stoicism and Islam. First, the concept of harmony and alignment in stoic thought aligned with what is referred to as sunnatullah in the Islamic perspective. This was interpreted as a pattern for living life and the ability to exercise self-control over one’s desires. Second, the concept of virtue is in stoicism, and amal shaleh (righteous deeds) is in Islam. Amal shaleh, which is grounded in knowledge, will lead to virtue. Virtue, in turn, will bring about a peaceful and contented soul, as described by the concept of nafs al-muthmainnah in Islam.
