Abstract:

The method of da’wah in character building efforts greatly depends on the intended object, be it maturity in age and mentality. Children of the 1980s generation may be intellectually below today’s generation, but have had stronger character growths. Da’wah plays a role of da’wah in helping and inviting children to grow good characters. This study aims to explain the da’wah methods used in character growth along with the differences between the children of the 80s generation with children of the current generation based on the theory in the book Ayyuhal Walad by Imam Al Ghazali. This research was written using a literature study, with an empirical normative approach. The result is that the mawa’idz method used by Imam Ghazali has been effectively used by parents or teachers in the 80s generation, but if it enters the current generation, it must be given logical reasons either in the form of targhib or tahdzir.
