Abstract:

Many environmental problems today are not entirely caused by industrial and technological development, but also by the low levels of environmental literacy, including attitudes and behaviors toward the environment. This weakens the dynamic relationship between humans and the environment. Effective environmental education can help increase public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is necessary for integrating sustainability principles into the curriculum and implementing them into learning. In the digital era, teaching materials can be accessed in electronic form. One of the electronic teaching materials that can be used is e-student worksheet, an electronic-based teaching material innovation, which makes it easier for students to learn and can be accessed anytime and anywhere. However, teaching materials used in learning biology in high school are mostly not digitized. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation and effectiveness of using ESD-oriented e-student worksheet in teaching environmental pollution to improve student learning outcomes. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) approach, by adapting the ADDIE development model. The ESD-oriented e-student worksheet on environmental pollution has a validity value of 96.40%, categorized as very valid. The practicality value is 94.56%, categorized as very practical. An N-Gain score for cognitive learning outcomes was 75.12%, categorized as moderately effective. This ESD-oriented estudent worksheet can be implemented in learning as a comparison and reference tool in developing innovative teaching materials to prepare students for the twenty-first century.
