Abstract:

Citizenship education in higher education plays a central role in developing students’ critical thinking skills and shaping them into informed citizens. To improve the quality of citizenship learning, the citizen project can be used as a learning model that fosters student skill development. This research aims to improve the quality of citizenship learning in higher education by implementing citizen projects in citizenship courses. The research uses a mixed-methods approach, following a dominant-less dominant design, where data were obtained through quantitative surveys, and qualitative interview offered further insight. Findings indicate that the citizen project had a positive impact on students’ knowledge, attitudes, and critical thinking skills.
