Abstract:
The case between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp was continued in Virginia in 2022, and the verdict chose Johnny Depp as the winner. Nevertheless, Amber Heard who sued him lost the trial. This Defamation trial inspired the researcher to conduct research from Amber Heard’s perspective on how she gave her testimony at the time. The data were taken from a YouTube video that consists of the utterance of Amber Heard’s testimony. Within an approach to critical discourse analysis and several methods, we found that Amber Heard implied her testimony using power to maintain attacking Johnny Depp. The researcher found that she got power in the trial court due to her significance as the victim, which influenced her to act in doing naturalization on her testimony.
