Abstract:
Sustainable economic development poses a significant challenge in Indonesia, particularly due to the negative impacts of capitalist industrial practices that lead to environmental degradation from the excessive exploitation of natural resources. In this context, the halal industry emerges as an alternative that can support ethical and sustainable economic growth. This study aims to explore the role and impact of the halal industry in promoting economic stability and sustainability in Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of sharia principles in business practices. This research employs a comprehensive literature review methodology and analyzes various academic literature, scientific journals, books, and relevant research papers. The data collection process involved searches on Google Scholar and prominent scientific publication platforms. The findings indicate that the halal industry not only contributes to economic growth but also supports environmental sustainability and social welfare. By applying the principles of rahmatan lil alamin, the halal industry can create a balance between economic growth and environmental protection, while providing benefits to society as a whole.
