Abstract:

The understanding of the halal certification for non-food products among the Muslim community remains limited due to a lack of awareness on the halal criteria. Based on population data from 2023, the Province of Lampung has a Muslim population of 93.6%. However, many business owners are still unaware about the importance of halal certification for non-food products. This is due to limited knowledge about halal requirements and lack of accessible information on the certification process. This study aims to analyze the impact of halal certification for non-food products on consumer purchase decisions and trust levels in Lampung Province. The research was conducted through survey interviews with consumers of non-food products to assess their perceptions of halal certification and its impact on their choices. The results indicate that halal certification plays a significant role in consumer purchasing , as certified products are perceived to be safer and more aligned with Islamic principles. These findings highlight the need for businesses to prioritize halal certification for their non-food products and encourage the government to promote and guide businesses in implementing the certification process.
