Abstract:

The tensions among the major world religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam (Samawi religions) persist in various parts of the world. These tensions have often led to the loss of lives and a deep erosion of humanity. Therefore, it is essential to reassess and map the doctrines of the Samawi religions to end these religious and global humanitarian conflicts in an effort to achieve world peace. This study is categorized as library research, with its data derived from literature sources such as the Quran, hadith, books, and scholarly articles. The study concludes that the Samawi religions originally shared the same fundamental teachings, sacred scriptures sourced from the same divine revelation, a commitment to human goodness, and specific rituals of worship. However, these divine teachings were later distorted by their followers after the prophetic missions of each era were completed. The common ground among Semitic religions opens opportunities for interfaith dialogue aimed at achieving mutual peace. This dialogue is based on the principles of universal truth and religious tolerance, which include freedom of belief, mutual respect for differences, the avoidance of anarchic means in resolving conflicts, and the protection of minority groups to foster harmony.
