Abstract:

This research examines the graphic description of torment in the Holy Qur’an in a way that indicates humiliation and degradation of the tormented person. Humiliating torment is reserved for those who commit an act of arrogance and insult the verses of Allah. Since the description of the infidels is to be arrogant toward the verses of Allah, they deserve this torment. Therefore, scholars singled out the humiliating punishment for the infidels, and denied that the disobedient Muslim should have a share of it.
