The article reveals the problem of theoretical understanding and practical investigation of the relationship between the concepts of consciousness, selfconsciousness, ‘I-concepts’, ‘I-image’. The criteria for the correlation of the concepts of consciousness, self-consciousness, ‘I-concepts’, ‘the I-image’ have been developed. The systematization of the conceptual apparatus, expressed in the clarification of the essence of the phenomena of consciousness, self-consciousness, the ‘I-concept’, the ‘I-image’ as a special form of the processes of isolation and identification of the individual, is made. Ontological and epistemological aspects of the content of concepts of consciousness, self-consciousness, ‘I-conception’, ‘I-image’ are singled

The dynamics of the scientific interest in the phenomenon of consciousness, self-consciousness, the ‘I-concept’, the ‘I-image’ of the personality is shown.
