Call for Papers

The International Journal for Excellence in Smart Learning (IJESL) is announcing a call for papers for a special issue focusing on The Effect of AI on Education.

This special issue will contain a series of articles dedicated to the rapidly evolving integration of Artificial Intelligence within educational contexts. AI presents transformative potential, offering personalised learning experiences, automating administrative tasks, and providing new tools for teaching and assessment. However, its deployment also raises critical questions regarding ethics, equity, data privacy, pedagogical effectiveness, and the changing roles of educators and learners. Understanding the multifaceted impacts of AI is crucial for researchers charting the future of learning, practitioners seeking effective implementation strategies, and policymakers developing responsible guidelines. This issue aims to capture the current state of research and practice in this dynamic field.

The International Journal for Excellence in Smart Learning invites submissions on a range of topics and disciplines investigating issues relevant to The Effect of AI on Education,  with a special emphasis on rigorous empirical studies and well-documented case studies demonstrating practical applications and evaluating the effectiveness or challenges of AI integration in real-world smart learning environments. Potential topics could include, but are not limited to:

• AI-driven personalised learning pathways and adaptive systems.
• Design, implementation, and evaluation of Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS).
• The role and impact of generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT, Large Language Models) in teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Ethical considerations, algorithmic bias, fairness, and transparency in educational AI.
• AI applications for automated assessment, feedback generation, and plagiarism detection.
• Learning analytics powered by AI to understand and support student engagement and success.
• Teacher training, professional development, and support for integrating AI tools in pedagogy.

All submissions must contain original, unpublished work not being considered for publication elsewhere.
