Aims and Scope

The Arab Journal of Nutrition and Exercise (AJNE) is an Open Access, peer-reviewed journal established in 2017.

AJNE aims to contribute to the evolving understanding of how nutrition and physical activity interact to maintain health and prevent non-communicable diseases by publishing high-quality knowledge on novel areas of nutrition, public health and exercise sciences within the context of the Arab world.

AJNE is the only journal in the Arab region that focuses on the latest advances in the two interlinked disciplines of health and fitness. Its goal is to promote innovative approaches to health and wellness, addressing region-specific challenges while also contributing to the global body of knowledge on nutrition and exercise science. AJNE covers all aspects of nutritional sciences, public health, epidemiology, obesity, metabolic health, traditional Arab diets, experimental biochemistry; experimental physiology, sports nutrition and supplementation, and novel technologies related to physical activity and/or nutrition, particularly within the context of the Arab world.

The journal invites submissions relating to generative research and transformative analysis by university researchers, healthcare professionals, sport scientists, policymakers and students. We particularly welcome work by junior academics and young professionals. Our authors benefit from a quick turn-around from submission to acceptance, expert critical insights from our peer reviewers and editorial team, and a truly global audience with readers from over 160 countries.

There are no Article Processing Charges associated with publishing in this diamond open access journal.

AJNE only accepts submissions that are scientifically sound and original and publishes original reports that relate to advanced findings in health and fitness.

Owned by Zayed University and hosted by KnE Publishing, AJNE publishes two issues a year and all submissions undergo double blind peer review.
