The International Conference on Social Studies and Educational Issues (ICOSSEI 2025)

This collection contains selected articles from the International Conference on Social Studies and Educational Issues (ICOSSEI 2025)  held in Malang, East Java, on August 26, 2025. This event was hosted by the Social Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Science, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM).

The conference was held to explore new advances in adaptive teaching strategies, examine Generation Z’s potential in addressing real-world problems, and promote interdisciplinary discourse on digital transformation, social change, and sustainability in education.

This KnE Social Sciences contains 44 peer-reviewed articles that explore a diverse range of topics related to education and humanities, with a particular emphasis on understanding Generation Z’s perspectives on educational leaders, digital challenges and solutions, and tourism development. This issue highlights the need to develop and integrate learning modules, enhance reading and learning abilities in students, understand the dynamics of impulsive buying, explore the impact of financial anxiety and knowledge, and foster environmental awareness. This issue also addresses topics such as harnessing digital strengths, overcoming learning barriers, and redefining educators’ role.

These articles will be of interest to academics, researchers, educators, and students working in the fields of social sciences, digital education, and youth studies.
