The Raden Intan International Conference on Shari’a and Law (RIICSHAW 2024)
This collection contains selected papers from the Raden Intan International Conference on Sharia and Law held in Bandar Lampung, on June 26-28, 2024. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Sharia Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung.
The conference was held to foster scholarly discussion and research on the role of Islamic law in addressing the challenges and opportunities of the contemporary international world. By emphasizing the universal and moderate nature of Islamic law, the conference seeks to explore its contribution to resolving key global issues, including governance, economic development, environmental preservation, humanitarian crises, and social justice.
This conference encourages researchers, academics, and practitioners to present innovative ideas and solutions, ensuring that Islamic law remains relevant and adaptive to the dynamics of an ever-evolving international landscape. Through collaborative efforts, it aims to promote a deeper understanding of Sharia and its application in diverse fields, contributing to global academic discourse and practical advancements.
This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 45 peer-reviewed papers on the Sharia law and the Islamic law perspectives and philosophy. It also discusses about resolving religious issues, child-free phenomenon for women, building stunting-free family resilience, Islamic finance, violations of the ethics code during elections, systematics of civil law in hadith, legal protection of recipients from online gambling sites, halal certification for non-food products in Muslim community, use of fintech in zakat payment, legal protection efforts for victims of domestic violence. Moreover, it also talks about the effects of digital technology in businesses, parenting and child education, strategies in improving the halal industry, and implementing halal tourism models.
The topics cover a wide range of issues, from governance and societal challenges to economic development and environmental sustainability, all examined through the lens of Islamic law. The conference seeks to provide innovative legal solutions to contemporary global issues while promoting the universal and moderate principles of Sharia.
