4th International Conference in Social Science (4th ICONISS): Urban Innovation

This collection contains selected papers from the 4th International Conference in Social Science (4th ICONISS) held in Malang, Indonesia on 16th September 2023. This event was hosted by the University of Merdeka Malang.

The conference was convened for academics, students, scholars, and practitioners, focusing on the intricate challenges of sustainability within the realm of deep governance issues, as well as the implementation of smart city concepts. This event brought together a diverse array of perspectives and expertise from various disciplines, aiming to foster constructive dialogue and innovative solutions to the complex problems associated with achieving sustainability goals. This conference was broken down into 3 issues: Urban Innovation, Healthcare, and Governance and Poverty Alleviation.

This KnE Social Sciences collection has 17 peer-reviewed articles that focus on Urban Innovation, exploring the multifaceted aspects of sustainability, particularly in relation to deep governance issues and the advancement of smart city initiatives. Each paper contributes a unique perspective, rigorously examining the complex interplay between sustainable practices and governance structures, while also exploring innovative approaches to integrating smart technologies within urban environments. Topics range from developing report creation system, licensing business services through Cloud application system, improving business performance and strategies of SME's. Apart from this it also explores information about community-based health initiative and behavior, empowering and encouraging farmers productivity, consumer perception, tourism, promoting plant growth, stakeholder analysis, and so on.

These articles will be of interest for academics, students, scholars, and practitioners who are engaged in research or practice within the domains of sustainability, deep governance issues, and smart city development.
