This collection contains selected papers from the 1st International Conference on Islamic Economics, Business Development and Studies (ICIEBDS) held in Bandar Lampung City Lampung Province, Indonesia on June 13-15, 2023. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung, Indonesia.
The conference was held to bring together leaders in Islamic economic development and social welfare interested in exploring innovative approaches to sustainable Islamic business principles, practices, and social policies.
This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 55 peer-review articles on Sharia-based economics and business models implemented across multiple industries. Muslim-majority countries across the world are constantly innovating new ways to meet the demands of globalising economies within the context of their unique cultural and religious environments. Global mainstream rhetoric has settled its focus on issues like eco-tourism, socially conscious business strategies, and questions around ethical technologies, encouraging public and private officials alike to maintain a standard of ethical practice within their domains of work. Scholars in this issue shine light on opportunities presented within Islamic doctrine to act as a catalyst of change for these officials looking to better the lives of people within their homes, offices, countries, and beyond.
These papers will be of interest to academics, students or professionals researching or working on the field of Islamic Business for the Environment and Sustainable Development and Towards Achieving Social Prosperity.
