4th International Conference in Social Science (4th ICONISS): Healthcare

This collection contains selected papers from the 4th International Conference in Social Science (4th ICONISS) held in Malang, Indonesia on 16th September 2023. This event was hosted by the University of Merdeka Malang.

The conference was convened for academics, students, scholars, and practitioners, focusing on the intricate challenges of sustainability within the realm of deep governance issues, as well as the implementation of smart city concepts. This event brought together a diverse array of perspectives and expertise from various disciplines, aiming to foster constructive dialogue and innovative solutions to the complex problems associated with achieving sustainability goals. This conference was broken down into 3 issues: Urban Innovation, Healthcare, and Governance and Poverty Alleviation.

This KnE Social Sciences collection has 20 peer-reviewed articles that focus on Healthcare, exploring the human face of medicine, accessibility, as well as innovative new treatments for prominent diseases. Topics include the services of nursing personnel in treating patients; implementing empowerment models for people with disabilities; in-depth information on using ethanol extract as an ointment in healing diabetic wounds, reducing the SGPT levels using cinnamon ethanol extract, Katuk leaf ethanol extract gel as an antimicrobial agent as well as use of Mediterranean diet in improving blood pressure in patients with hypertension, obesity, and metabolic syndrome.

These articles will be of interest for academics, students, scholars, and practitioners who are engaged in research or practice within the domains of healthcare, medicine, and social issues.
