Toilet Training to Improve the Knowledge of Mothers of Toddlers, Toddler Cadres, and PAUD Teachers: A Community Development

Abstract:
Self-awareness about toddler growth and development is crucial. One such important developmental task is toilet training, as toddlers should start learning to be independent in terms of regulating their elimination. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of toilet training in improving the knowledge of mothers of toddlers, toddler cadres, and PAUD teachers. This study uses an experimental method with the one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The subjects in this study were 32 people who met the subject criteria: mothers who have toddlers, toddler Posyandu cadres, and pre-kindergarten teachers who have the most interaction with toddlers. The result show an increase in the knowledge of PAUD cadres/teachers and mothers with toddlers related to toilet training, which was carried out with a significance of 0.00 (p <0.01). This result can be used as a consideration to provide training to individuals or related communities so that the phenomenon related to toilet training can be carried out sustainably.
